Cette année encore une fois, nous allons essayer de réitérer nos performances précédentes et de gagner la coupe. Je considère ce tournoi comme un moment propice pour commencer la transition concernant l'équipe nationale et j'ai décidé de convoquer plusieurs joueurs de l'équipe U20 (qui va disputer le tournoi MEVZA en janvier 2024): Christian Galoppo (2005), David Zehren (2006), Charel Schmitz (2006), Luca Modard (2006), Leon Czapor (2006). J'ai bon espoir que vous allez les voir évoluer aux côtés des plus anciens, (Gilles Braas ou Chris Zuidberg par exemple).

We are just a few days away from the NOVOTEL CUP and unfortunately Scotland, England and Bulgaria U18 canceled their partecipation at the last moment! Despite everything, it is always a thrill to play the competition even if only against one national team, Austria U20, a very strong national team that will test the potential of our Red Lionesses. 

Despite the injuries of 2 important players, Julie Téso (Setter) and Carole Gruneklee (Middle Blocker), despite the absence of Cindy Schneider (Middle Blocker) for work reasons, the players and our entire staff, we are excited to play up front our public to show how the sacrifices of recent months have produced excellent results, raising the level of many young athletes. 

This tournament will be important to prepare for the MEVZA, the U20 competition which will be held in Slovenia next 3-7 January 2024 and will also be important to amalgamate the Senior group for the SILVER LEAGUE which will be played at the end of May. 

Looking forward to play this Novotel Cup and GO RED LIONS

Our team is quite young with very talented athletes with great room for improvement, unfortunately we didn’t have so many training sessions with the more experienced players, so our first goal is to find the right balance of roles and consequently of the team in this Novotel Cup #33.
Our second goal is to give our supporters the victory despite the level of this edition is higher than the previous one!

I will approach each game with the intention of winning it, also knowing that the opponent wants the same.
Above all, I want my players to give the best at every moment in order to play at the maximum of their capacities.
I will be very happy to be able to repeat the performance of the last edition, but I also know that it will be harder than 2 years ago.

Der Novotelcup ist zurück! Nachdem das traditionsreiche Turnier im vergangenen Jahr ausfallen musste, trifft sich die Volleyballfamilie in diesem Jahr wieder in der Coque.

Das Turnier findet zudem an seinem angestammten Termin am ersten Januarwochenende statt. Vom 3. bis 5. Januar spielen wieder jeweils 4 Teams bei den Damen und Herren um den Pokal.

Ein Novum ist, dass sowohl bei den Damen als auch bei den Herren die gleichen Teams gegeneinander antreten. Dies verspricht eine hervorragende Stimmung im Gymnase des nationalen Kultur-und Sportzentrums.

Neben Luxemburg sind England, Schottland und Island gemeldet. Aus sportlicher Sicht ein gutes Feld, welches die roten Löwen und Löwinnen fordern und fördern wird.

Bei den Herren werden Kamil Rychlicki (Verpflichtungen mit seinem Verein Lube Civitanova) und Gilles Braas (kurze Auszeit) nicht zum Kader gehören.

“Roud Léiwinnen meaning Fighting Lions in English !

After several years of excellent work by the previous trainers, a new duo was engaged by the Federation mid September.

Many roads lead to Rome, to choose the most suitable way was the required first tasks, to define the identity of the team. The girls evaluate themselves as fighting, hungry, motivated, co-operative, close together, ambitious and last but not least caring. Caring for each other and caring for the world.

„Team England hat sich in den letzten Jahren unter Trainer Simon Loftus extrem weiter entwickelt. In der EM-Quali ist die Mannschaft durch einen Sieg gegen Ungarn und zwei knappe Spiele gegen Israel und Norwegen positiv aufgefallen. Mit "Volldampf-Volleyball" und viel Erfahrung ist England sicherlich der Favorit auf den Gesamtsieg im N-Cup 2017. Man kann sehen, dass in die Entwicklung des Volleyball in England viel Geld geflossen ist in den vergangenen Jahren. Einige Spieler kommen aus dem "Great Britain Team" und es bleibt letztendlich abzuwarten mit welcher Mannschaft die Engländer beim N-Cup 2017 auflaufen werden.   

Die 30ste Auflage des Novotelcup ist nunmehr Geschichte. Während 4 Tagen haben sich in insgesamt 12 Spielen 4 Männer und 4 Frauenmannschaften untereinander gemessen.

Als Erkenntnis bleibt: Luxemburg behauptet seinen Platz unter den Small Countries souverän und sowohl unsere #hungrylions wie auch die  #redlionladies sind auf Augenhöhe mit dem europäischen Mittelfeld angekommen.
